Team India’s poor show in the ongoing T20 World Cup continued as they suffered a humiliating eight-wicket defeat at the hands of New Zealand at Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Sunday (October 31)

Invited to bat first, the Men in Blue managed a paltry 110/7 in their allotted 20 overs. It was a listless performance with the willow as no one even managed to touch the 30-run mark. Ravindra Jadeja was the top scorer with 26 not out.

Ish Sodhi was the stand-out bowler for New Zealand, claiming two wickets by conceding only 17 runs in his four overs. Trent Boult (3-20), Tim Southee (1-26), and Adam Milne (1-30) also returned with impressive bowling figures.

In reply, the Kiwis rode on opener Daryl Mitchell’s 35-ball 49 and skipper Kane Williamson’s unbeaten 33 off 31 balls to overhaul the target with 33 deliveries to spare.

Cricket experts on Twitter lauded the Black Caps for their dominant display and were critical of India’s abysmal showing.
