Jos Buttler slammed 31-ball 71* as England chased down Australia's 125/10 with 50 balls to spare.
Asked to bat first, Australia got bowled out for a below-par 125 in 20 overs. It was a listless performance with the bat as no one except for skipper Aaron Finch (47) managed to cross the 20-run mark.
All the England bowlers were among wickets but it was pacer Chris Jordan who stood out, claiming three wickets by conceding only 17 runs in his four overs. Chris Woakes (2-23), Liam Livingstone (-15), and Adil Rashid (1-19) returned with impressive figures as well.
In reply, England rode on Jos Buttler’s brutal 71 not out off 32 balls (5 fours and 5 sixes) to overhaul the target with 50 deliveries to spare.
It was England’s third successive win in the Super 12 stage and they have now set one foot into the semi-finals.
Cricket fraternity took on Twitter lauded Eoin Morgan and company for their flawless outing against Australia.
