West Indies batter-keeper Nicholas Pooran has described Kieron Pollard as a “wonderful captain”, ahead of the defending champions' survival battle against Bangladesh in the ongoing ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021 on Friday (October 29) in Sharjah.

Both West Indies and Bangladesh have lost both of their Super 12s matches so far, and both teams are in danger of being eliminated from the global event.

The T20 World Cup 2021 clash on Friday is equally crucial for both Bangladesh and the West Indies, as another defeat will end either of their hopes of reaching the semi-finals, though Pooran is confident that Pollard will make really good decisions to win the game in Sharjah.

Pooran said, “We have a wonderful captain. He knows what he's doing. Whatever he says goes, and we back him to make some really good decisions for us tomorrow to be successful.”

Meanwhile, Sharjah is a paradise for the big hitters with its short boundaries, but it is also a dream pitch for the spinners and Pooran also admitted that “it can be a tricky wicket” for the game on Friday.

He concluded, “But we back all the batsmen 100 percent. Doesn't matter if it's right or left-handed batsmen. We back them to do the job for us. As a team, we already accepted that we didn't come to the party. And we're looking forward to moving forward and hopefully, we can do much better.”
