Pakistan wicketkeeper batter Mohammad Rizwan has come in support of Indian pacer Mohammad Shami after he was viciously attacked online following India’s 10-wicket loss to Men in Green in their opening game in the ongoing ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021 in Dubai.

On Sunday, October 24, Shami, like other Indian bowlers, had an off day, as the senior speedster conceded 44 runs in just 3.5 overs as Pakistan chased down 152 without losing a wicket and with 13 balls to spare to record their first win over Team India in the World Cup.

It was in Shami's over when Pakistan completed the 152-run chase with Rizwan hitting the Indian bowler all around the ground in Dubai and following the defeat, the pacer was subjected to online abuse and he was even labeled “traitor” by trolls on social media.

Following the online abuse, many politicians and sporting heroes have rallied behind Shami and condemned the act by the fans and now Pakistan’s Rizwan became the latest to join the bandwagon.

Rizwan took to social media to post a beautiful message for Shami's haters and said the game of cricket should bring people together and not divide them.

On Tuesday, October 26, Rizwan took to Twitter to show solidarity with Shami and shared a beautiful message for the haters, saying the game should bring people together and not divide them.

Sharing a painting of Shami on Twitter, Rizwan wrote: “The kind of pressure, struggles & sacrifices a player has to go through for his country & his people is immeasurable. @MdShami11 is a star & indeed of the best bowlers in the world. Please respect your stars. This game should bring people together & not divide 'em #Shami #PAKvIND.”
