Batting first after losing the toss India managed just 151/7 in 20 overs as Shaheen Afridi rocked them by removing openers Rohit Sharma for a golden duck and KL Rahul for a single-digit score. Though Rishabh Pant made 39 and Virat Kohli held the innings with 57, Afridi returned to take the wicket of the Indian skipper and kept the Indian innings to a below-par total.
In reply, Babar Azam made 62* in 52 balls with 2 sixes and 6 fours, while Mohammad Rizwan hit 79* in 55 balls with 6 fours and 3 sixes as Pakistan reached the target in 17.5 overs without losing a wicket.

This was Pakistan’s first win by 10 wickets in T20I history and India’s first such loss. With this loss, India’s streak of victories in World cup tournaments over Pakistan came to an end on 12-0.
Meanwhile, ICC shared a video collage of Mohammad Rizwan’s innings and the keeper-batter visualizing his shots ahead of the match and compared the two. Rizwan hit shots exactly where he had visualized with exact perfection.
