Mohammad Shami had a poor performance against Pakistan as India lost by 10 wickets.
India batter Virender Sehwag has come in support of Indian pacer Mohammad Shami, who had a tough outing against Pakistan in the 2021 T20 World Cup match on Sunday (October 24). Pakistan defeated India by 10 wickets after the latter failed to defend a target of 152 runs in 20 overs.
Mohammad Rizwan (79*) and Babar Azam (68*) looked unstoppable as they chased down the target in 17.5 overs. Shami conceded 43 runs in 3.5 overs at an economy of 11.22 and he was the most expensive among the Indian bowlers.
Sehwag was disappointed and shocked by the online attack on Shami for his bowling performance. He stood by the pacer and told him to come back strong in the next match.
"The online attack on Mohammad Shami is shocking and we stand by him. He is a champion and Anyone who wears the India cap has India in their hearts far more than any online mob. With you Shami. Agle match mein dikado jalwa," Sehwag tweeted.
India will play their next match on October 31 against New Zealand. They would need to win their remaining matches to be sure about their spot in the semi-final.
