Pakistan on Sunday (October 24) created history as they crushed India by 10 wickets in the T20 World Cup 2021 fixture at Dubai International Cricket Stadium to end their losing streak in the World Cup events against the arch-rivals.

In the highly-anticipated encounter, Pakistan restricted India to 151/7 in 20 overs on the back of Shaheen Afridi’s sensational spell of 3 for 31 in four overs. The left-arm pacer laid the foundation by removing India’s in-form openers Rohit Sharma (0) and KL Rahul (3) cheaply and claimed the prized scalp of well-set Virat Kohli (57) in his second spell.

Other Pakistan bowlers such as Shadab Khan (1-22), Haris Rauf (1-25), and Hasan Ali (2-44) also made a mark on the game.

India’s famed batting line-up couldn’t rise to the occasion. Besides Kohli, Rishabh Pant made a notable contribution of 30-ball 39.

In reply, Pakistan chased down the total without breaking a sweat. Wicketkeeper batter Mohammad Rizwan slammed 79 not out off 55 balls while skipper Babar Azam smashed 68 not out off 52 balls as Pakistan overhauled the target with 13 balls to spare.

Pakistan cricket fraternity was on could nine after their emphatic victory over the neighbours.
