Chennai Super Kings (CSK) head coach Stephen Fleming on Saturday (October 16) joined the New Zealand cricket team ahead of the 2021 T20 World Cup. Under Fleming, CSK won their fourth IPL title by beating Kolkata Knight Riders in the IPL 2021 final on Friday.
As per the official Twitter account of New Zealand cricket, Fleming has now joined the Kiwis for a few days to share his experience with the side going into the T20 World Cup.
"Fresh from the @IPL Final - it's great to have @ChennaiIPL winning coach @SPFleming7 joining us for a few days ahead of the start of the @T20WorldCup #T20WorldCup," BLACKCAPS tweeted.
New Zealand will start their T20 World Cup campaign with a face-off against Pakistan in the Super 12s on October 26. Apart from Pakistan, the Kiwis have India, and Afghanistan in their group with two more teams to be decided after Round 1.
Kyle Jamieson and Lockie Ferguson have been named in New Zealand’s squad for the tournament. Kane Williamson will lead the side with experienced players like Tim Southee and Martin Guptill named in the squad.
