As the T20 World Cup 2021 is just around the corner, all the teams are gearing up for the ICC mega event in UAE and Oman. Pakistan is one of them as the Green Army will begin their campaign against archrivals India on 24 October (Sunday) in Dubai.

Thus, the former Pakistan cricketer Javed Miandad has urged the current national side to have a fearless approach in this crucial match against a star-studded Indian team in which a win according to Miandad will set Pakistan’s momentum for the showpiece event.

The match against India will be crucial to getting momentum in the tournament. They are a strong side and have several top players but if we can play without fear and pressure and everyone does his bit we can beat them,” Miandad said.

The former Pakistan skipper Miandad then talked about how he believes everyone in the current Pakistan side should contribute and has the capability to do well in the upcoming T20 World Cup 2021.

T20 World Cup 2021: Brett Lee feels India should build their batting around Rahul to ease the pressure off Kohli

T20 format is one where people think that one or two players can win you matches but I look at it this way that in this format everyone needs to contribute in some way or the other for a team to be a winning outfit,” the 64-year-old said.

In this format, even small innings of 20 or a crucial catch or run-out or a good over can win you matches so everyone has to put in his bit. This format is about a collective effort from the team,” he added.

The right-hand batter then rubbished the talks of pressure on Pakistan cricketers as he believes professional cricketers should deal with this calmly.

I don’t understand at times this talk about rebuilding team grooming players at top level. In the Pakistan team, you are there because you are the best and are supposed to deliver for the country. You shouldn’t try to go bang bang all the time, it is about waiting for the right ball and moment to execute your plans,” Miandad concluded.
