India entered the final of the Women's T20 World Cup this Thursday (March 4) after a rain abandoned semi-final with England in Sydney, having finished higher in the group stage points table.

No play was possible as the rain pelted down at the Sydney Cricket Ground.

India reached the top four with a clean slate in Group A, winning against Australia, Bangladesh, New Zealand and Sri Lanka.

England ended Group B ranked second after dropping a match with South Africa either side of wins over Pakistan, West Indies and Thailand.

The organisers perhaps made a massive error in not allocating reserve day for the knock-outs, depending solely on the group stage seedings in case heavy weather plays spoilsport, which it eventually did.

However, the Harmanpreet Kaur led Indian side wouldn't have mind as it now awaits its opponent for the marquee final at MCG this Sunday (March 8) from the winner of other semi-final between Australia and South Africa.

Unfortunate circumstances in which the final berth was decided didn't go unnoticed but the cricket fraternity also reacted in praise of the Indian team.
