South Africa thrashed the West Indies by nine wickets in Ahmedabad.
Opting to bowl first, the Proteas reduced the Caribbean side to 83/7 in the 11th over. However, Jason Holder (49 off 31) and Romario Shepherd (52* off 37) added 89 runs for the eighth wicket to propel the West Indies to a competitive 176/8 in 20 overs.
Lungi Ngidi claimed three wickets for South Africa, while Kagiso Rabada and Corbin Bosch bagged two scalps each.
In reply, South Africa got off to a blazing start as the duo of Quinton de Kock and Aiden Markram put on 95 runs for the opening wicket in just 8 overs.
While de Kock fell after smashing 47 off 24 balls, Markram held the one end firmly. The South African captain stayed unbeaten on 82 off 46 balls, sharing an explosive stand with Ryan Rickelton (45* off 28) to take his team over the line with 23 deliveries to spare.
This commanding win puts South Africa on the cusp of securing a semifinal spot and also gives a significant boost to India's campaign.
