India defeated Namibia by 93 runs in Delhi game.
India T20I vice-captain Axar Patel was all praises for pacer Jasprit Bumrah’s excellent outing in the field in the recent India v Namibia T20 World Cup 2026 game in Delhi on February 12. India defeated Namibia by 93 runs to register their second straight win in Group A of the tournament.
Axar Patel, an Indian all-rounder, took two wickets in the match, the second coming from Jasprit Bumrah's spectacular diving catch to dismiss Malan Kruger for five runs.
Axar praised the speedster's performance on the track and quipped that he wouldn't hear the end of it from him in the coming days.
"What a catch, yaar," Axar was seen applauding Bumrah following the conclusion of the game, in a video shared by ICC.
After the victory, the presenter and wife of Bumrah, Sanjana Ganesan, quizzed Axar about the moment.
“The delivery that you bowled was caught by Jasprit Bumrah. Did you expect that he’d take the catch in that manner?" Ganesan asked.
“When the ball was in the air, I knew it would be caught, but in the last moment, when I saw the ball moving away, and Jassi was not there, you can also see my reaction on the TV, but Jasprit took the catch.
Now I’ll never hear the end of it. See what a catch I took off your bowling? So I’m ready to listen to it for a couple of days," Axar stated in jest.
Additionally, Ganesan forwarded a message from Bumrah to Axar about his fixation with the social media app Snapchat.
“Jasprit Bumrah has specifically asked us to ask you a particular question, and I have to ask you that. Why are you obsessed with Snapchat? How did it start? I’m just the messenger," Ganesan added.
“See, I’m doing this for the people. So they get to know what goes on around in the team. Jasprit wouldn’t agree to feature on anyone else’s feed, so I knew I had to get him. And now he’s going around complaining about me. But now you give him a message from me; now it’s my turn,” Axar stated.
“You guys are on the same team; why do I have to keep passing the messages?" Ganesan exclaimed.
