Jasprit Bumrah made his Test debut and Dale Steyn made his Test comeback.
Team India found themselves in a position of advantage at lunch as South Africa struggled to make their way back into the game.
Virat Kohli lost the toss and didn’t seem too disappointed by it. Team India gave debut to Jasprit Bumrah and dropped Rahane in favor of Rohit Sharma. South Africa dropped Temba Bavuma for AB de Villiers and Dale Steyn came back into the team.
However, the initial play of the day belonged to Bhuvneshwar Kumar, who dismissed Dean Elgar for a duck, trapped Aiden Markram for 5 and removed Hashim Amla for 3, leaving South Africa 12 runs for 3 wickets.
But then Faf du Plessis and AB de Villiers put on 95 runs to take the team to 107/3. AB de Villiers scored a brilliant counter attacking 59 in just 65 balls, with Du Plessis making a patient 37.
Indian bowlers took advantage of morning movement and Bhuvneshwar and Shami asked some difficult questions from South African batsmen.
Twitter loved the battle between Indian bowlers and Proteas batting and we have some tweets for you:

As good an opening spell as any you will see. Lovely lengths. You take movement for granted with Bhubaneshwar and the combination has been lethal
