The third and final ODI between Sri Lanka and India got underway in Colombo’s R Premadasa Stadium. Sri Lanka are leading 1-0 and have a great chance to win their first ODI series against India since 1997.

Charith Asalanka, the Sri Lanka captain won the toss and chose to bat first for the third time in the series. Maheesh Theekshana came in for Akila Dhananjaya for Sri Lanka. For India, Rishabh Pant came in for KL Rahul and Riyan Parag made his India ODI debut in place of Arshdeep Singh.

Sri Lanka openers Pathum Nissanka and Avishka Fernando gave a good start to the team, adding 89 runs in 20 overs for the first wicket. Nissanka fell for 45 runs to Akshar Patel, but then Fernando and Kusal Mendis added 82 runs for the second wicket.

Mohammed Siraj did not get off to a good start in the game, being taken for many runs in the opening two innings. The fast bowler appeared out of sync since he did not bowl good lines and lengths early.

He appeared rusty, and Sri Lanka hitters took advantage, scoring some quick runs off his bowling in the ongoing game.

However, Mohammed Siraj has performed admirably in his third tenure. He had been pushing himself hard with the ball, and his intensity was quite high. This was clear when he took on Sri Lanka's Kusal Mendis in the 39th over.

Mohammed Siraj began the over with three dots. On the third ball of the over, he bowled a skidding delivery at 135kph. The ball remained low, and Kusal Mendis lowered his bat barely in time to keep it out. Following that, two players from the team exchanged words.

The duo proceeded to come closer to one another; however, Siraj turned around and walked away. His intense rivalry with the Sri Lankan team was evident in his every move.
