The Sri Lanka Cricket Selection Committee on Friday (August 21) added off-spin all-rounder Sahan Arachchige and batter Kamil Mishara to the squad for the must-win second and final Test against India, slated to be held in Colombo from August 23.

Sri Lanka trail the two-match series 1-0 after losing the opening Test to India by 165 runs at the Galle International Stadium.

Arachchige, who has the experience of five ODIs and a T20I under his belt, has come in for Ramesh Mendis. He impressed one and all with his performance against India A last month while leading Sri Lanka A. He was the second highest run-getter with 209 runs, only behind Sai Sudharsan’s tally of 332 runs.

Top-order batter Mishara replaced Nishan Fernando, who returned with scores of 0 and 6 in the Galle Test.

Pasindu Sooriyabandara will remain part of the squad in place of an injured Dinesh Chandimal.
