Ajinkya Rahane recently announced his retirement from international and all cricket.
Ajinkya Rahane, former Indian cricketer, who announced his retirement from all cricket recently, will switch to commentary duties. He will be seen behind the mic in the upcoming two-Test series between Sri Lanka and India starting August 15.
He will now assume a new position in the commentary box, contributing his extensive knowledge and viewpoint to the Test series that will be streamed on Sony LIV and televised on the Sony Sports Network.
Rahane made his India debut in 2011 and scored 5,077 runs in 85 Test matches for India, including 12 hundreds and 26 half-centuries. He also had a good record in ODIs, with 2962 runs in 90 ODIs and three centuries to his name. He also played 20 T20Is, scoring 375 runs to his name.
Rahane’s in-depth knowledge of red-ball cricket, match conditions, and the intricacies of the game will give the broadcast a special touch.

The first Test of the series will be played in Galle from August 15, while the second Test will be played at SSC Colombo from August 23 onwards.
