Tabraiz Shamsi won the Player of the Match for his 1/18 in 4 overs.
Aiden Markram, South Africa captain, won the toss and chose to field first keeping in mind the overcast conditions. India lost both openers- Shubman Gill and Yashasvi Jaiswal for a duck. But then Tilak Varma (29) and Suryakumar Yadav (56 in 35 balls) gave India impetus in powerplay.
Rinku Singh once again provided the finishing touch with 68* with 9 fours and 2 sixes, while Ravindra Jadeja scored 19 runs as India posted 180/7 in 19.3 overs as rain ended the innings early. For Proteas, Gerald Coetzee took 3/32.
Suryakumar Yadav’s innings was ended by Tabraiz Shamsi in the 14th over. The Indian captain misread the googly from the left-arm wrist spinner and his lofted shot was a mistimed one. Suryakumar ended up handing a simple catch to Marco Jansen at long-off.
Tabraiz Shamsi was over the moon after picking the wicket of the Indian skipper and brought out his trademark shoe-phone celebration in which he removes his shoe and acts to use it as a mobile phone to call someone.

South Africa received a revised target of 152 in 15 overs and openers Matthew Breetzke (16) and Reeza Hendricks (49 in 27 balls) gave a flying start with 42 runs in 2.5 overs. Aiden Markram with 30 in 17 balls and David Miller with 17 in 12 balls continued the momentum despite India taking some quick wickets.
Tristan Stubbs made 14* and Andile Phehlukwayo ended the match with a six in 13.5 overs as South Africa won by 5 wickets via the DLS method. Tabraiz Shamsi won the Player of the Match for his 1/18 in 4 overs.
