Rinku Singh put on a show with the bat in the second game of the three-match T20I series between India and South Africa in Gqeberha on Tuesday (December 12).

The southpaw arrived in the middle when the visitors were struggling 55/3 in the sixth over. Amid the pressure situation, Rinku put on 77 runs for the fourth wicket with skipper Suryakumar Yadav to bail India out of trouble.

While Suryakumar got out after scoring 56 off 36 balls, Rinku held the one end firmly. The swashbuckling left-hander notched up his half-century in 30 balls and added 38 runs with Ravindra Jadeja (19 off 14) to put the tourists in a commanding position.

In the penultimate over, Rinku smashed Aiden Markram for two successive sixes to finish with 68 not out off 39 balls, including 9 fours and 2 sixes.

Thanks to his whirlwind knock, the Men in Blue posted 180/7 on the board. India’s innings couldn’t be completed as the rain stopped play with three balls remaining.

For his stunning knock, Rinku Singh received rich praise from the cricket fraternity on social media platform X (formerly Twitter).
