Waqas Maqsood gets maiden call-up to Pakistani team.
An injury in Imad’s knee ruled him out of Pakistan's tour of New Zealand late last year and since he has been out of the side due to fitness concerns. He was also axed from the Asia Cup 2018 squad for failing the fitness Tests.
30-year-old pacer Waqas Maqsood, the highest wicket-taker in the Pakistan Cup, country's premier one-day tournament, with 14 wickets in five matches at an average of 15.07, gets a call-up to the Pakistani team.
"Maqsood has been drafted in the T20I squad after his recent performances in the domestic cricket and playing for Pakistan 'A' team in the recent series," a PCB statement quoted national chief selector Inzamam ul Haq say, "Similarly, Imad makes a comeback in the team after his form and fitness was monitored by the selection committee during the current domestic matches."
The three-match T20I series between Pakistan and Australia begins from October 24.
