Left-handed opener Yashasvi Jaiswal continued his rich vein of form by scoring 102 runs from 138 balls during the first innings of the third unofficial Test for India A against New Zealand A at Bert Sutcliffe Oval in Lincoln.

This knock comes immediately after his unbeaten 155 for India A in the second innings of the second unofficial Test against New Zealand A at Hagley Oval in Christchurch.

Jaiswal notched up the three-figure mark in 127 balls on Saturday (November 7), scoring a boundary off the second ball of the 44th over of India’s A innings bowled by Dean Foxcroft.

During his stay at the crease, Jaiswal hit 16 fours and 2 sixes. He added 175 runs in 46.3 overs for the first wicket with Sai Sudharsan, who also scored a half-century.

Having scored 17 and 5 in the first unofficial Test and bagging a duck in the first innings of the second unofficial Test, Jaiswal was under severe scrutiny. However, the southpaw silenced his critics with back-to-back tons this week.

As a result of this performance, Jaiswal has sealed his place in India’s playing XI as opening batter for the first Test against the New Zealand, slated to get underway on November 19 at Basin Reserve in Wellington.

Premier fast bowlers Jasprit Bumrah and Prasidh Krishna are playing in India A's third and final unofficial Test against New Zealand A in Lincoln as part of their preparation for the upcoming two-Test series.

This marks Bumrah’s return to red-ball cricket after last playing a Test match against South Africa in November 2025. On the other hand, Prasidh is playing his first competitive match after recovering from a hamstring strain suffered during an ODI match against the West Indies on September 30.

Ravindra Jadeja and Tilak Varma also joined the India A squad for this fixture, while wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant is missing the match due to a side strain.
