Kohli arrived in Auckland to link up with India ODI squad for the five-game series starting November 4.
KL Rahul, Shubman Gill, and Rohit Sharma are among the other players of India's ODI team who have arrived in Auckland. In fact, on Thursday, Gill was seen working out with the Indian T20 team in Auckland.
Kohli’s global popularity was truly on display as fans turned up in huge numbers at the airport to get a glimpse of the former India captain.
The fans' demands for a selfie, signature, and handshake really made things very chaotic, to the point that some officials intervened and gave Kohli enough room to exit the airport.
In total, 5 security guards were assigned to manage the fans, but the number of people wanting to see Kohli made the situation hard to control. Some people even got past security just to take a photo or get an autograph from Kohli.
It was reported through some videos posted on social media that fans waited for some time just to see Kohli. Even some female fans cried upon seeing Kohli, and Kohli obliged their demands.
