New Zealand's star batsman Daryl Mitchell drew widespread attention after a post-match interview clip spread rapidly across social media. In the viral clip, steam can be seen rising from Daryl Mitchell's head following his innings of 89* runs against India in Tuesday's third T20I that was played in Wellington.

New Zealand was asked to bat first and posted 198/3 in 20 overs thanks to Mitchell’s knock and contributions by Finn Allen (40) and Bevon Jacobs (39*).

Mitchell was giving an interview in mid-innings and went viral after a video showing lots of steam rising up from his bald head. The fans joked that the New Zealand batsman was still running hot after his innings.

The video was shared on social media with the caption "A head of steam up!"

This incident might seem strange, but it can occur when someone's body is hot following strenuous physical activity and the air around them is cold. Under the right conditions, sweat and moisture from the skin can form visible vapor, similar to breath on a cold morning.

During New Zealand's innings, Mitchell had batted for 20 overs in the middle, delivering an aggressive knock under pressure. The difference between his body heat and the cold air seemed to produce the striking effect visible in the interview.

However, Mitchell’s batting exploits went to waste as Abhishek Sharma’s 38-ball 113 and Vaibhav Sooryavanshi’s 19-ball 45, and their opening wicket partnership of 133 in 7.1 overs, made the chase easy for India on a tough pitch in testing conditions. India won the game by 6 wickets in 13.2 overs, going 3-0 up in the five-T20I series.
