KL Rahul and Yashasvi Jaiswal disappointed in the first India A game in New Zealand.
Jaiswal had made 17 runs before edging the ball to the slips, while KL Rahul had made an 8-ball duck before being caught behind by the keeper.
New Zealand replied with 317 runs, with captain Rhys Mariu scoring 76, Dean Foxcroft making 51 and Curtis Heaphy making 44. Anshul Kamboj and Auqib Nabi picked three wickets each for India.
Much was expected from the famed India batting lineup in the second innings; however, openers Yashasvi Jaiswal and KL Rahul disappointed once again.
KL Rahul was dismissed hit wicket for 4 runs, as he hit the stumps with his bat, trying to push the ball away as it bounced towards the stumps after playing a defensive shot.
On the other hand, Fraser Sheat toyed with Yashasvi Jaiswal. Jaiswal anticipated a fuller delivery, but Sheat surprised him with a stiff bouncer that followed the opener, as he tried to sway after, but the ball hit the bat, and the catch was taken by the keeper with ease.
However, Devdutt Padikkal hit a fifty, and Sai Sudharsan (39*) managed to bring India back into the game with a 96-run unbeaten partnership as India A made 106/2 at stumps on day 2 in the second innings of the game.
