Virat Kohli has hit the nets at the Cricket Club of India's Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai, stepping up his training ahead of India's five-match ODI series against New Zealand.

The 37-year-old batting stalwart spent nearly two hours fine-tuning his strokeplay on a red-soil pitch, facing both fast bowlers and spinners.

During his intensive simulation session, Kohli displayed sharp form with cover drives and backfoot defensive strokes, alongside attacking the spinners down the track. The videos of his practice session are going viral on the internet.

While the younger Indian contingent is currently playing a T20I series in New Zealand, Virat Kohli is using this solo window to transition into his preferred 50-over format.

The five-match ODI series is set to begin on November 4 in Auckland, serving as a crucial step for Team India as they build toward the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup 2027.

Having retired from T20Is and Test cricket, Kohli is focusing solely on the ODI format for India, with an ultimate aim to lift the coveted Word Cup trophy in Africa next year. He has been in fine form this year, scoring 552 runs in 9 ODI innings at an average of 69 and a strike rate of 117.94 with two centuries and three fifties to his credit.
