Ross Taylor was awarded the Man of the Match for his century.
India opened with debutants Mayank Agarwal (32) and Prithvi Shaw (20) and the duo added 50 runs for the first wicket. Virat Kohli came in and along with Shreyas Iyer continued to build a solid platform for lower order to launch off. Kohli made 51 before falling to Sodhi, but Iyer soldiered on for his maiden ODI century, making 103 with 1 six and 11 fours.
The best knock came from KL Rahul though, who slammed 88* in 64 balls with 6 sixes and 3 fours, while Jadhav also managed 26* in 15 balls as India put up 347/4 on the board.
Though the Kiwis lost some wickets towards the end, Taylor smashed an unbeaten 109 in 84 balls with 10 fours and 4 sixes to take his team to victory in the last over and with 4 wickets in hand. Kuldeep Yadav picked 2 wickets for 84 runs in 10 overs, while Bumrah and Jadeja went wicketless.
