Shubman Gill has been included in India's squad for New Zealand tour.
Many expected opener Shubman Gill to make his T20I debut for India, but when Hardik Pandya revealed the India XI for the second match of the three-match series, and Gill’s name was missing. India instead went with Rishabh Pant and Ishan Kishan as their openers for the match.
Reacting to the team news, the presenter Gaurav Kapur asked former India cricketer Ashish Nehra about his absence and he came up with a stunning reply.
Shubman Gill has made his India foray into Tests and ODIs but was not considered for T20Is until now. This came after a good outing for Gujarat Titans in IPL 2022 under the captaincy of Pandya and the coaching of Ashish Nehra.
