Mithun Manhas, born on October 12, 1979, in Jammu & Kashmir, has established himself as a mainstay of Indian domestic cricket. Manhas was a right-handed batsman who could also bowl off-spin and fill in as a wicketkeeper when needed.
With numerous veteran players abroad on international duty, Manhas frequently captained Delhi, leading the team through critical seasons. Notably, he captained Delhi when a young Virat Kohli made his debut, developing a close bond with the future superstar.
Manhas played 157 first-class matches in his 18-year career, scoring 9,714 runs at an average of just under 46. He scored 27 centuries and 49 fifties, with his best season coming in 2007-08. That year, he captained Delhi to a long-awaited Ranji Trophy victory, hitting 921 runs at an excellent average of 57.56 and solidifying his place in Indian domestic cricket.
Mithun Manhas' IPL career included stints with the Delhi Daredevils, Pune Warriors, and Chennai Super Kings. Before becoming BCCI president, he served as the assistant coach of the Gujarat Titans in the IPL.
Apart from Manhas, Rajeev Shukla remained the BCCI vice-president, and Devajit Saikia continues as honorable secretary, while Prabhtej Singh Bhatia assumed the role of joint secretary. Raghuram Bhatt was chosen as treasurer.
Jaydev Niranjan Shah was picked as the sole member of the Apex Council, tasked with providing critical policy guidance. Two new members, Mr. Arun Singh Dhumal and Mr. M. Khairul Jamal Majumdar, were inducted into the Governing Council, which oversees broader initiatives across Indian cricket.
RP Singh and Pragyan Ojha have also joined the senior India men's selection committee headed by Ajit Agarkar, replacing S. Sharath and Subroto Banerjee.
