The deadline for applying for BCCI selectors openings are September 10.
Contrary to previous reports, former India pacer Praveen Kumar has not applied for the open vacancy for the BCCI selector post, IANS stated on Friday. The BCCI had invited applications for two vacant selector positions in the Ajit Agarkar-led selection committee, with a deadline of September 10.
Praveen took 112 international wickets while playing for India in six Test matches, 68 ODIs, and 10 T20Is between 2007 and 2012. He hasn't submitted any applications to the board, though, according to a senior BCCI official.
Praveen has been in charge of selecting the senior men's team from Uttar Pradesh since last year. The new applicants for the senior men's selection committee must have retired from cricket at least five years prior, according to the BCCI's description.
A minimum of seven Test matches or thirty first-class matches, or ten ODIs and twenty first-class matches, should have been played by the ideal candidate. Furthermore, the candidates must have been off the BCCI Cricket Committee for a period of five years. The other members of the senior men's selection committee are Agarkar, SS Das, and Ajay Ratra.
Applications are now being accepted for four positions on the women's national selection committee and one on the junior men's selection committee. The deadline to submit is September 10 at 5 p.m.
