Vaidya had made fun of Kohli mistakenly liking Avneet Kaur's fan page photo in Instagram.
Singer Rahul Vaidya has started a campaign against Virat Kohli and his ‘joker’ fans. This comes after Virat Kohli provided a clarification post a like on actress Avneet Kaur’s photo from his official account on Instagram.
This moment became the talk of the town immediately and the Indian batter and the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) will provide explanation.
"I'd like to clarify that while clearing my feed, it appears the algorithm may have mistakenly registered an interaction. There was absolutely no intent behind it. I request that no unnecessary assumptions be made. Thank you for your understanding,” Kohli had posted on his Instagram.
Following Kohli's assertion that an Instagram algorithm error had caused a conversation to be captured from his account, social media activity somewhat slowed down.
But then singer Rahul Vaidya took over and posted a couple stories on Instagram, making fun of Virat's explanation of the exchange in a post about Avneet Kaur.
"Main kehna chahta hoon ki aaj ke baad aisa ho sakta hai ki algorithm bohot saare photos like karde jo maine nahi kare. So, jo bhi ladki ho (I want to say that going forward, the algorithm might like many photos which I didn't do. So, the girls), please don't do PR around it because it is not my mistake. It is Instagram's mistake, okay?" Vaidya posted.
Rahul continued by saying that Kohli had blocked him on Instagram because of the post, but the RCB player had also hinted that it might have been an "Instagram glitch."
"So, guys, Virat Kohli has blocked me, as you all know. I think that too is an Instagram glitch, Virat Kohli didn't block me. Instagram k algorithm ne bola hoga Virat Kohli ko ki, 'Ek kaam kar, main tere behalf pe Rahul Vaidya ko block kardeti hoon'. Hain na (Instagram's algorithm told Virat Kohli, 'I'll block Rahul Vaidya on your behalf') Right?" Vaidya stated.
Since Vaidya decided to comment on a mistake by Virat Kohli on social media, the fans of the RCB and India star have targeted him and his family. Vaidya claimed that Kohli's fans have been abusing him on social media over the recent activities on the internet.
He retaliated by intensifying his mocking of Virat Kohli and his fans, calling them bigger jokers than the cricketer. He also called them “2 kaudi” ke followers of the cricketer.
"Virat Kohli's fans are even bigger jokers than Virat!" He went on to express his anger over the abuse targeted at his family, saying, "And now you are abusing me, that's fine, but you are abusing my wife, my sister.. who has nothing to do with this! So I was right. That's why you all Virat Kohli fans are jokers! 2 kaudi ke (worthless) jokers,” Vaidya posted.
Rahul also stated on a Zoom call that he "doesn't endorse Virat as a human being," despite being an admirer of the cricket player. He went so far as to claim that his article regarding Virat and Avneet was merely meant to be humorous.
"Virat Kohli has blocked me for some reason. I am not even aware of the reason. I used to be his fan. I am still a fan of the cricketer, but I don't endorse him as a human being," he said.
