India’s Virat Kohli and Shubman Gill dominated the recent update of the ICC ODI batting rankings. Both Kohli and Shubman have scored a century each in the ongoing ICC Champions Trophy 2025 for the Indian team.
Shubman Gill made 101* against Bangladesh and Virat Kohli slammed 100* against Pakistan as India qualified for the semi-finals of the ICC tournament.
As a result, Virat Kohli has roared back into the top five ODI batters in the latest update of ICC Rankings. Kohli hit his 51st ODI century in a magnificent show of batting against Pakistan at the ICC Champions Trophy in Dubai on Sunday and moved up one spot. Kohli overtook Daryl Mitchell to clinch the fifth spot in the rankings.
Meanwhile, Shubman Gill extended his lead over Babar Azam in the ICC men's one-day international batting rankings. Gill started the Champions Trophy with a match-winning hundred against Bangladesh. The Indian vice-captain scored a fluent 46 against Pakistan, extending his golden run with the bat.
Shubman Gill now leads ODI batting rankings as no.1 with 817 points, 47 ahead of second-placed Babar Azam. India skipper Rohit Sharma, meanwhile, cemented his position at No. 3, with three Indians now in the top five of the ICC men's ODI batting rankings.
KL Rahul rose two spots to return to the top 15 after his solid start to the Champions Trophy campaign.
South Africa spinner Keshav Maharaj (up one place to equal fourth), New Zealand quick Matt Henry (up two rungs to sixth), and Australia veteran Adam Zampa (up two spots to 10th) all make ground inside the top 10 for ODI bowlers.
