India spinner Varun Chakaravarthy’s golden run with the ball since his comeback to India has earned him a huge promotion in the latest ICC T20I Bowling Rankings. In addition to the same, India batter Tilak Varma’s exploits against England took him to the second spot in the T20I batting rankings.

Australia’s Travis Head remains the no.1 ranked T20I batter in the world. But Tilak Varma is closing in on him. While Head still holds a 23-point lead at the top of the batter rankings, Varma is hot on his heels following scores of 19*, 72*, and 18 from three knocks for India so far against England.

He could overtake Head with good scores during the final two matches of the series, with Head currently involved in the Test format.

If Varma can overtake Head, he will become the youngest player to top the standings. Babar Azam currently holds the record, having become the top-ranked T20I batter at the age of only 23 years and 105 days.

Varma's 832 points are the fourth highest by an Indian hitter in the batting rankings, trailing only Suryakumar Yadav, Virat Kohli, and KL Rahul.

Coming to the ICC T20I bowling rankings, Varun Chakaravarthy, who has picked 10 wickets in three T20Is against England, including a fifer in the recent Rajkot T20I, has made a jump of 25 spots. Varun is now the fifth-ranked T20I bowler in the world.

India spinner Axar Patel sits just outside the top 10 after moving up five spots to 11th on the same list.

England’s Adil Rashid reclaimed no.1 spot in the T20I bowling rankings. Rashid first took the top spot at the end of 2023 and remained in that position for much of last year until fellow spinner Akeal Hosein overtook him.
