Bumrah has been rewarded for his sustained brilliance in the ongoing BGT.
After his match-haul of nine for 94 in the third Test at the Gabba, Bumrah attained the joint-highest rating points ever achieved by a Test bowler from India.
The right-arm quick added 14 points to his tally and went up to 904 rating points, which the recently retired Ravichandran Ashwin had reached in December 2016 after the fourth Test against England in Mumbai.
Bumrah’s stunning exploits in three Tests against Australia have helped him increase his lead at the top of the bowling rankings to 48 rating points. Kagiso Rabada (856) and Josh Hazlewood (852) are holding the second and third spots, respectively.
On the other hand, Travis Head's continued stellar run helped him close in on the top three spots in the ICC Men's Test Batting Rankings.
The southpaw’s heroic knock of 152 at the Gabba to follow up his ton at Adelaide has helped him surpass India opener Yashasvi Jaiswal to fourth in the list led by Joe Root.
Steve Smith is back in the top 10 after scoring 101 in the first innings while Alex Carey’s scores of 70 and 20 not out have lifted him 11 slots to 29th position. India’s KL Rahul has advanced 10 spots to 40th and Ravindra Jadeja nine spots to 42nd.
As far as the Men's Test All-Rounder Rankings is concerned, Australian captain Pat Cummins has regained his place back in the top 10, following his four wickets with the ball and 42 runs in the third Test against India. Travis Head has also gained nine places up to 29th, showcasing his prowess with the ball as well.
