The Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchise owners have submitted a list of overseas players who went unsold in the recent IPL 2025 auction to PCB and asked the board to ensure that these players sign on for the PSL 2025 draft.

The upcoming PSL 2025 will be played from April 17 to May 20 and will clash with the IPL 2025 which will begin on March 14 to May 25.

While the majority of players will prefer the more lucrative IPL over the PSL, a number of high-profile overseas cricketers, including David Warner, Kane Williamson, Adil Rashid, Alex Carey, Keshav Maharaj, Shai Hope, Donovan Ferrara, Daryl Mitchell, Jonny Bairstow, and Akeal Hossain, went unsold at the IPL auction.

"The team owners want the PCB to talk to the agents and boards of these players and confirm their availability for the PSL 2025," an insider was quoted by Times of India.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), perhaps inspired by the BCCI's decision to hold the IPL 2025 auction abroad, has been working on plans to hold the PSL players' draft in either London or Dubai.

The notion of holding the PSL's 2025 player draft abroad was addressed at a meeting between team owners and PCB executives. The PSL joint committee met to discuss preparations and the timetable for next year's PSL.

"The franchise owners are in favor of having the players draft either in London or Dubai as they feel it would improve the brand image of the league,” the source added.

The IPL 2025 mega auction was a two-day event hosted in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
