The International Cricket Council (ICC) finds itself in a tough spot after India’s refusal to travel to Pakistan for the Champions Trophy 2025 and the host nation's reluctance to adopt a hybrid model.

On Friday (November 29), the apex body held its board meeting to decide the fate of the showpiece tournament but it was adjourned without a decision.

According to a Cricbuzz report, the meeting was held briefly for about 20 minutes before the board members decided to meet again soon.

“It has been learnt from reliable sources that the members did not arrive at a decision, with Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) sticking to its stated position of a hybrid solution not being acceptable to it,” the report stated.

The report further stated that all 15 members of the board - 12 full members and three directors from the Associate countries - are believed to have attended the meeting.

Meanwhile, another source has claimed that the meeting may take longer than 24 hours to resume. As per the sources, the parties will try to work diligently towards to sort out the mess surrounding around the Champions Trophy.

The ICC board meeting may resume in the next few days, if not exactly on Saturday (November 30) itself.
