Apart from Pandya, Tilak Varma, Sanju Samson and Arshdeep Singh also made strides in rankings.
India’s Hardik Pandya has reclaimed his spot as the no.1 ranked all-rounder in the latest update of the ICC Players’ rankings on November 20, 2024. This update comes after the conclusion of the 4-T20I series between India and South Africa, which the Men in Blue won 3-1.
Hardik Pandya produced some brilliant performances with the bat and the ball. While his spell of 1/8 from three overs in the pivotal fourth T20I guaranteed India an amazing 3-1 series victory, his innings of 39* in the second game of the four-match series helped balance India's batting.
Thanks to this, Pandya overtook England’s Liam Livingstone and Nepal’s Dipendra Singh Airee to become the number one ranked all-rounder in the world in the latest ICC rankings.
This is the second time Pandya has held the No.1 ranking for T20 all-rounders, with the consistent India performer first rising to the top at the end of this year's ICC Men's T20 World Cup.
Apart from Pandya, young Tilak Varma jumped 69 places in the ICC T20I batting rankings, thanks to his Player of the Series performances against South Africa. He scored 280 runs with two consecutive centuries to his name.
Varma is now at no.3 spot behind no.1 ranked Travis Head and no.2 Phil Salt. India captain Suryakumar Yadav has slipped to no.4 spot behind Varma. Teammate Sanju Samson - who also managed two centuries during the series with South Africa - climbs 17 spots to 22nd on the same list.
In the T20I bowling rankings, Arshdeep Singh moved 3 places up to 9th spot, while Ravi Bishnoi slipped one spot to no.8. Axar Patel moved to 13th spot with a jump of 10 spots.
