Arjun Tendulkar, son of legendary India batter Sachin Tendulkar, turned heads with his superlative bowling performance for the Goa team. He picked a match haul of 9/87 against KSCA XI in the Dr (Capt) K Thimmappiah Memorial Tournament, which is also known as the KSCA Invitational.

The KSCA XI consisted primarily of U-19 and U-23 players, with only two established names in the lineup: Nikin Jose and glovesman Sharath Srinivas.

Arjun bowled excellently for a match total of 9/87. In the first innings, Karnataka collapsed for 103 in 36.5 overs, with Tendulkar junior taking 5/41 in 13 overs. Goa responded with a strong 413, with Abhinav Tejrana (109) scoring 100 and Manthan Khutkar contributing 69.

In the second innings, KSCA XI fared slightly better, getting dismissed for 121 in 30.4 overs, with Arjun taking 4 for 46 in 13.3 overs.

Arjun, who will turn 25 next week, has so far played 49 competitive games across three formats at senior level and picked 68 wickets. In 13 first-class games, he has taken 21 wickets.

Apart from demonstrating his abilities at the local level, the left-arm pacer has been given an opportunity in the Indian Premier League. Last year, he made his debut for the Mumbai Indians (MI), the five-time champions of the lucrative T20 competition.

He played his first game against the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) but did not take a wicket. His first wicket came from Bhuvneshwar Kumar during MI's match against Sunrisers Hyderabad. Arjun has taken three wickets in five IPL matches, at an economy rate of 9.37.
