Mumbai batter Sarfaraz Khan and his younger brother Musheer Khan on Thursday (January 25) made their family proud as both of them slammed centuries.

While Sarfaraz hit a hundred for India ‘A’ against England Lions, Musheer smashed a ton for the India U-19 side against Ireland in the ongoing Youth World Cup in South Africa.

After bundling out England Lions for 152 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, India ‘A’ racked up 489/10 in their first innings to take a mammoth lead of 337 runs.

Sarfaraz top scored for India ‘A’ in the first innings with a swashbuckling knock of 161 while batting at No. 4. His 160-ball knock was studded with 18 fours and 5 sixes.

With this innings, Sarfaraz Khan has once again strengthened his claims for a spot in the senior Indian Test team. Notably, the right-hander has been a prolific run-scorer in India’s domestic circuit for the last few years and his latest Test snub against England was widely questioned by the cricket experts.

On the other hand, Musheer Khan produced a scintillating century against the Ireland U-19 side at the Mangaung Oval in Bloemfontein.

Batting at No. 4, Musheer scored 118 off 106 balls before getting run out in the 48th over. He was also the top scorer for India U-19 team and his knock included 9 fours and 4 sixes.

Thanks to his innings, the defending champions posted 301/7 on the board in their allotted 50 overs.

Brief Scores: England Lions 152/10 (Oliver Price 48; Akash Deep 4/46) trail India ‘A’ (Sarfaraz Khan 161; Matthew Potts 6/125) by 337 runs at stumps on Day 2

Brief Scores: India U-19 301/7 in 50 overs (Musheer Khan 118; Uday Saharan 75) vs Ireland U-19 (Oliver Riley 3/55; John McNally 2/45)
