“I am feeling very proud”- Mohammad Shami after receiving Arjuna Award; BCCI, Indian cricketers send wishes

 India pacer Mohammad Shami, on January 9, 2024, received the honor of the Arjuna Award at the hands of President Droupadi Murmu at Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi.

Mohammad Shami was a huge contributor to India’s unbeaten run to the final of the ICC World Cup 2023 in India. He picked 24 wickets in just 7 matches including three five-wicket hauls – two of them came against New Zealand.

His best bowling was 7/57, the best bowling figures ever by an Indian in ODIs, and it came in the semi-final against New Zealand.

Today I am feeling very proud that I have been honored with the prestigious Arjuna Award by the President. I want to thank all those people who have helped me a lot to reach here and have always supported me in my ups and downs... thanks to My Coach, BCCI, teammates, family, and staff and big thanks to my fans.. Thanks for recognizing my hard work..I will always try to give my best to make my country proud... Again thanks to everyone.. Congratulations to other arjuna award winners,” Mohammad Shami posted on X after receiving the Arjuna Award.

Shami received lots of wishes on social media for this honor and even the BCCI shared the video of the moment when President Droupadi Murmu presented Mohammad Shami with the Arjuna Award.
