David Warner has signed a 2-year deal with Dubai Capitals.
The second edition of the ILT20 will be played from January 20 to February 18.
David Warner, who announced retirement from Tests and ODIs to focus on the shortest format in international cricket, is part of Dubai Capitals’ sister franchise, the Delhi Capitals in the IPL and led the side in IPL 2023.
The left-handed opener will skip the Australia white-ball series to take part in the league because of his contract. The Dubai Capitals handing him captaincy shows how valuable the Australian is as a leader.

Apart from Delhi Capitals, David Warner captained Sunrisers Hyderabad in the IPL, and also under him the team won the title in 2016. He’s the leading run-getter in the league amongst the overseas batters.
Dubai Capitals, in the last edition of ILT20, reached the Eliminator of the tournament. However, under David Warner, they would be hoping to go two steps ahead and win the title.
