Cariappa lodged the complaint a year after the same woman had filed a case against him two years ago.
Residing in Nagasandra and hailing from Kodagu district in Karnataka, Cariappa told the police that he had been in a relationship with the woman. However, due to her drug addiction and alcoholism, he was unable to continue the relationship.
As per the report, Cariappa persuaded her to stop drinking but she remained firm. She also threatened to take her life, placing the blame on him.
A senior police officer confirmed that an investigation is underway based on Cariappa's complaint, the report further stated.
Back in 2022, the woman had filed a complaint, claiming that the cricketer had impregnated her and provided her with abortion pills. She also alleged that Cariappa had promised to marry her.
Notably, the woman is unaware of Cariappa's complaint and expressed her intention to file another complaint.
