The 12th match of the ongoing Big Bash League (BBL) 2023–24 was played on Saturday, December 23, between the Melbourne Stars and Sydney Thunder at Lavington Sports Oval in Albury.

Notably, Melbourne Stars' star all-rounder Beau Webster played a brilliant knock of 59 runs and also snared four wickets against the Sydney Thunder in Albury.

However, Sydney Thunder managed to pull off a thrilling five-wicket win over the Melbourne Stars.

Meanwhile, in this BBL 13 match, Pakistan and Melbourne Stars fast bowler Haris Rauf neither took a wicket nor scored runs, but he stole the headlines. Actually, he came to bat at the crease without helmet, pads and gloves against the Sydney Thunder.

This funny incident unfolded during the Melbourne Stars' innings when their ninth wicket fell on the second-to-last ball. Mark Steketee was run out on the fifth ball of the 20th over, and the Stars' score was 172/9. Rauf, who was supposed to bat next, wasn't ready and was seen rushing onto the field with a helmet and gloves in his hands.

The Pakistani speedster put on the helmet and gloves after arriving at the non-striker's end but didn't have his pads on. Fortunately, Rauf didn't need to face a delivery, as Liam Dawson was dismissed by Daniel Sams on the final ball of the Melbourne Stars' innings.
