The Cricket West Indies (CWI) confirmed that left-handed batter Shimron Hetmyer has been dropped from the West Indies squad for the last two T20Is of the five-match series against England. The visitors won the third match to keep the series alive which the hosts lead 2-1.

Hetmyer has struggled for form over the last few weeks with scores of 1 and 2 in the first two T20Is against England. He was not part of the XI for the third T20I, which West Indies lost thanks to Harry Brook’s heroics.

Earlier, he had scores of 32, 0, and 12 in the three ODIs. He is replaced by Johnson Charles who played the most recent of his 44 T20Is against India in August.

Alzarri Joseph has been rested ahead of the West Indies' tour of Australia next month which includes two Tests, three ODIs, and three T20Is. The pacer is likely to be part of all three formats on the tour that begins with the opening Test in Adelaide on January 17.
