Former Indian cricketer Gautam Gambhir is known for his fiery character on the cricket field, and he has never shied away from displaying grit for Team India or standing up for his players as a mentor.

Recently, Gambhir made headlines for a heated on-field exchange with his former teammate Sreesanth during a Legends League Cricket (LLC) 2023 match. Before this incident, Gambhir was involved in another much-talked-about altercation with Virat Kohli in the IPL 2023.

The 2011 World Cup winner was seen engaging in an animated conversation with Kohli after an IPL 2023 match between the Lucknow Super Giants and Royal Challengers Bangalore.

Actually, Kohli had a confrontation with LSG's Naveen Ul Haq during the match, which led Gambhir to dive into the matter. Now, he revealed that he was “defending" Naveen and had every right to do so.

Gautam Gambhir said on a podcast on ANI, “As a mentor, no one can come and walk over my players,” when he was asked about Naveen Ul Haq controversy.

Gambhir signed off by saying, “I have got a very different belief. Till the time the game was on, I had no right to interfere but once the game was over if someone still gets into a heated argument with my players, I have all the right to defend them.”

The LLC released a statement addressing the dispute between Gambhir and Sreesanth, stating their intention to carry out an internal investigation into the alleged breach of the code of conduct.
