England will play three ODIs and five T20Is in the upcoming tour of West Indies.
The forthcoming series, comprising three ODIs and five T20Is, offers an excellent platform for England to establish new strategic manoeuvres for the 50-over format and to gear up for the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2024, due to be held in the West Indies and USA from June 4 to June 30.
Jos Buttler will continue to lead the ODI and T20I teams. The squad includes only five other players who were part of the 2023 World Cup campaign in India, indicating a significant overhaul.
Gus Atkinson, Harry Brook, Brydon Carse, Sam Curran, and Liam Livingstone are the other players to feature in both squads.
Some notable omissions from the ODI squad are Ben Stokes, Moeen Ali, Dawid Malan, Jonny Bairstow and Joe Root. Moeen, however, has been included for the T20Is.
The inclusion of uncapped seamers Josh Tongue and John Turner in both squads for the West Indies tour shows England's commitment towards nurturing new talents.
