India pacer Mohammad Shami has taken the cricketing world by storm with his stunning exploits in the ongoing World Cup at home.

Shami was included in the playing XI after India were forced to alter their playing combination due to Hardik Pandya’s ankle injury.

As it turned out, the right-arm quick made an impact straightaway, picking up 16 wickets from four matches at an astonishing average of 7 with two five-wicket hauls.

While the entire nation is singing praises for the veteran fast bowler, Shami’s estranged wife Hasin Jahan doesn’t seem to be happy about his achievements.

In an interview with News Nation, Hasin Jahan was asked about Shami’s red-hot form and she came up with a rather bizarre response.

Jahan said Shami’s stellar performance will secure the future of her and their daughter as he will earn more money.

“Kuch bhi hai, accha perform kar raha hai. Acha khelega toh team main bana rahega. Acha kamayega toh hamara bhavishya secure rahega [Whatever it is! He is performing well. If he does well, he will stay in the team. If he earns good, our future will remain secure],” she stated.

Hasin Jahan also refrained from extending her best wishes to Mohammad Shami for the remaining World Cup campaign.

Here’s the video:

Talking about Shami’s performances in this World Cup, he claimed a five-wicket haul (5/54) against New Zealand in Dharamsala to earn the Player-of-the-Match award. He continued his brilliance versus England in Lucknow, taking four wickets (4/22) to script India’s 100-run victory in a low-scoring encounter.

Shami took another five-wicket haul (5/18) against Sri Lanka in Mumbai to win one more Player-of-the-Match award. His latest heroics came versus South Africa in Kolkata as he returned with the figures of 2 for 18 in his four overs, helping India annihilate the Proteas by 243 runs.

Mohammad Shami will be next seen in action India’s last league match against Netherlands on November 12.
