There are four Indian bowlers in total in the top 10 of the ICC ODI bowling rankings.
Shubman Gill's impressive start to India's campaign in the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup 2023 ended Babar Azam's two-year-plus stint as the top-ranked ODI batteer. In doing so, Gill joined Sachin Tendulkar, MS Dhoni, and Virat Kohli as the fourth Indian batsman to occupy the No. 1 ODI batter spot.
Over the previous week, the right-hander has scored 92 against Sri Lanka and 23 against South Africa, totaling 219 runs from six innings at the event.
Babar Azam, on the other hand, has had a rough campaign thus far. In the ongoing World Cup, he has 282 runs from eight knocks. This resulted in him sliding six rating points below Shubman Gill.
Aside from Gill, Virat Kohli made impressive movement in the ratings as well. He rose three places to fourth, one rating point behind third-placed South African Quinton de Kock. Kohli has 543 runs in 8 World Cup matches, including two tons and four fifties.
Shreyas Iyer also jumps an impressive 17 places to 18th overall on the list for ODI batters, with Pakistan opener Fakhar Zaman (up three spots to 11th) and Afghanistan counterpart Ibrahim Zadran (up six spots to 12th) making good ground.

Apart from Siraj, Kuldeep Yadav (up three places to fourth), Jasprit Bumrah (up three spots to eighth), and Mohammed Shami (up seven places to 10th) are all nestled within the top 10.
South Africa spinner Keshav Maharaj (up two spots to second) and Australia counterpart Adam Zampa (up six places to third) are other big movers inside the top 10.
