VVS Laxman said that he never thought of playing cricket in China.
VVS Laxman, legendary Indian batter and the current head of the National Cricket Academy (NCA), expressed his hope for cricket to be included in the Olympics on Monday (October 2).
Laxman hopes that all the cricketers will get a platform in the future to proudly represent their country and compete for Olympic medals. He also stressed that the T20 format is an ideal format for the Olympics.
The legendary cricketer is currently the head coach of Team India, which is competing in the Asian Games in China.
Expressing his joy at being a part of the Asian Games, Laxman said that he never thought of playing cricket in China.
VVS Laxman was quoted as saying by ANI, “I think, the T-20 format is an ideal format and to be part of the Olympics, I hope that, in the near future, cricket will become part of the Olympics, and, all the cricketers will get an opportunity to represent the country and win medals for the country in the Olympics.”
He continued, “I never ever thought that we will come and play cricket in China. This is a great opportunity for the entire team because participating in the Asian games itself is a big opportunity and a matter of great pride for all this players. I am really looking forward to this tournament.”
