2011 World Cup winner Gautam Gambhir heaped praise on the legendary captain MS Dhoni for his remarkable contributions to Indian cricket. Gambhir believes that no one will ever match the captaincy records that Dhoni has achieved for India in the international arena.

Dhoni holds a very unique record of being the only captain in the world to have won all three prestigious white-ball ICC events: the T20 World Cup in 2007, the ODI World Cup in 2011, and the Champions Trophy in 2013.

In addition to these ICC titles, Dhoni also led the Indian cricket team to Asia Cup titles in 2010 and 2016. India also attained the No. 1 Test ranking under his captaincy.

Genius Dhoni's sharp cricketing acumen and tactical brilliance worked wonders for India, and his legacy as a captain is etched in history. His achievements as a leader, finisher, and wicket-keeper continue to inspire generations of cricketers.

Gautam Gambhir said on Star Sports: “No one can match MS Dhoni‘s Captaincy in Indian cricket, many captains have come & many captains will come but I don’t think anyone can match his captaincy. The man who wins three ICC trophies in his captaincy, I don’t think anything bigger than this.”

Notably, Dhoni retired from international cricket in 2020, but he continues to play in the Indian Premier League (IPL), with the upcoming IPL 2024 likely to be his last season as a player.
