MS Dhoni is widely regarded as not only one of the best cricketers and captains to ever play the game, but also as an amazing human being and everyone who has met him or played with him, has only good things to say about the former skipper.

Though MS Dhoni retired from international cricket in 2020, he has continued to play in the IPL and won the title in 2021 and 2023 with the Chennai Super Kings in the recent time. He celebrated his 42nd birthday in July this year and is more or less expected to play in the next year’s IPL as well, as he left the door open after last season.

He has left a great impact on all the people he has met and CISF officer Satish Pandey shared his experience of meeting MS Dhoni on social media.

‘Imagine the outrage if Kohli, Root or Rohit get run out at non-striker’s end in World Cup semi-final,’ says R Ashwin

Pandey told the story of meeting Dhoni in the VIP lounge of the Ranchi airport. He stated that as soon as he met Dhoni, he was struck by the warmth of his presence and his gracious smile. He also talked of discussing with Dhoni the various life skills and how he deals with adversity.

Pandey said that his first question to MS Dhoni was about how he remained calm and composed regardless of wins, losses, and life's challenges.

Dhoni replied: “I just want to enjoy that moment because I know this moment will not come again in life. I want to live it."

Further, Dhoni talked about handling pressure and life's problems and said: "It's up to you how you want to live your life. Let go of things that are not in your control. Dwelling on them only hurts you and hinders your progress. Work on what you have now, and make the best of it."

Officer Pandey also shared that MS Dhoni gave him a valuable lesson of using selectively ignoring things because if we will respond to everything our brain will stop working as there are many battles are open, when dealing with fast-paced world.
