Shubman Gill makes significant gains in ICC Men’s T20I batting rankings after dazzling 77 in 4th T20I vs West Indies

India wrist-spinner Kuldeep Yadav also gained places in the T20I rankings for bowlers.

India opener Shubman Gill has attained a career-best 25th position in the ICC Men’s T20I Player Rankings for batters following his half-century in the penultimate game of the five-T20I series against West Indies in Florida last week.

Gill slammed 77 off 47 balls in the fourth T20I. As a result, the stylish right-hander leapfrogged 43 places in the rankings chart.

Gill’s previous best in the shortest format was 30th position, achieved in February this year, after he smashed 126 not out against New Zealand in Ahmedabad.

Shubman Gill’s opening partner Yashasvi Jaiswal, with scored 84* off 51 balls in the fourth T20I against West Indies, has also made significant gains in the latest weekly update. The southpaw moved up thousand places to reach 88th position.

West Indies opener Bandon King’s 85 not out off 55 balls in the series-deciding fifth T20I has helped him move five places to a career-best 13th position while Kyle Mayers (up two places to 45th) and Shimron Hetmyer (up 16 places to 85th) have also made progress in the T20I rankings for batters.

In the rankings for bowlers, India wrist-spinner Kuldeep Yadav has advanced 23 spots to 28th position after claiming two scalps in the fourth T20I.

Caribbean left-arm spinner Akeal Hosein is up three places to 11th and Jason Holder is up two places to 25th after they picked up two wickets each in the fifth T20I while Romario Shepherd’s match-winning four-wicket haul has gained him 20 slots to 63rd position.
